If you are a fan of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, you will get a kick out this modern remake. Even if you are not a fan or have never read the original you will find much to enjoy in this fast paced, enjoyable romance. Instead of Elizabeth and Jane Bennett, you will meet Elise and Juliet who have recently moved to LA from Massachusetts when their mom becomes principal at an exclusive private school. Chase and his arrogant best friend, Derek, the son of two Hollywood superstars, are the modern day versions of Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy. While Chase and Juliet are immediately attracted to each other, misunderstandings and miscommunications create distrust between Elise and Derek who are obviously meant to be together! Pick this book up if you need a little escape - reading it was a great way to spend a couple of hours on the Labor Day weekend.
