Seraphina by Rachel Hartman
This fantasy is about a girl named Seraphina who is about 16 years old and is a court musician. The crown prince of Goredd, Rufus, is believed to have been murdered by dragons and Seraphina gets drawn into the murder mystery. She is partnered with Prince Lucian Kiggs, the Captain of the Queen's Guard. Seraphina struggles to hide her own secret behind her musical gift while uncovering hints of a sinister plot to destroy peace. If Seraphina's secret ever gets out, it could mean her entire life. Seraphina and Prince Lucian Kiggs start off with a rough relationship but eventually it gets romantic. This book is for people who like to read about fictional characters like dragons. The book is mysterious at times and is adventurous. It also contains some romance. I would recommend this book to teens in junior high school who are interested in fictional creatures.
