Book Pick of the Week - Teen Review

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Beatrice Prior lives in a dystopian society where there are 5 factions. Each faction is dedicated to a particular virtue - Candor (honest), Abnegation (selfless), Dauntless (brave), Amity (peaceful) and Erudite (intelligent). Once  a year all 16 year olds must select a faction where they will live the rest of their lives. Beatrice must make the difficult decision of staying with her family or leaving them to follow her heart. During Initiation she must make difficult decisions - she must determine her real friends and stay alive. This book is a sci-fi novel but also contains drama and romance. If you loved the Matched series, you will love this.
This book is recommended for teens ages 12-18      5 stars!
