A meteor hits the moon pushing it closer to the earth causing world wide tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and much more. The power is gone and now smoke covers all the continents so food growth stops. Miranda and her family must fight for their survival with all they have. But they are not the only ones fighting - people with guns are robbing stores and homes. The West Nile virus is spreading and so many people are dying. I would recommend this book to students age 12 and up who enjoyed the Hunger Games. Rating: 4 3/4 stars (out of 5)
